Vindication at last

So almost 18 years after he banished Pete Rose from baseball for gambling, Bart Giamatti has finally been vindicated without a single trace of doubt.

Confirming what everybody except his most die-hard defenders knew (and they were more in denial than anything else), Pete Rose has finally admitted that he bet on his own team, the Cincinnati Reds.

Years upon years of denial finally ended in 2004 when Rose admitted to betting on baseball. And now, 3 years later, he finally 'fessed up to betting on the very team he was managing.

Should this mea culpa pave the way for Pete Rose to be inducted to the Hall of Fame? Hell, no. If nothing, this is just more proof he should never be inducted there. Well, at least not until Shoeless Joe Jackson is inducted; ol' Joe was banned over a lot less evidence than what got Rose.
