Can you tell it's a long holiday in the U.S.? 4 posts in one day!
Anyways, a quick update on my progress in reading The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, winner of the "What Should The ErwiNation Read Next" contest.
With the long Memorial Day Holiday this past weekend, I figured that around then would be a good time to start reading the book. So armed with my co-worker's Barnes and Noble Discount Card (as well as an additional 15% coupon he was kind enough to give me), I trudged to the B&N on 46th and 5th after the office closed at 2 PM on Friday (I love early office closings due to Holidays!).
Found the book, bought it, and then on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, I did the same exact thing. At around 4 PM, I walked the 10 minute distance from my apartment to Astoria Park, found my favorite bench - and it's my favorite bench because it's underneath a tree and it overlooks the East River - and with a bottle of Diet Mountain Dew in hand, read for the next 2 hours or so. You gotta love spring; 6 PM and the sun's not even near setting yet. Anyway, 6 hours total of reading that book and I'm about 1/3 done already. It is pretty awesome so far. It's currently at 6 Nations and rising. You don't have to be a comic book fan to love this book (and I'm guessing most of the people who read and loved it aren't comic book fans); but if you ARE a comic book fan, well let's just say it makes it even more special.
