Movie Retro: Memento

Since there's been a veritable Christopher Nolan love fest on this site for some time now, here's a movie retro on the film that got Mr. Nolan noticed and admired by movie fans (including myself) in the first place: Memento.

I'll spare you the details of Memento, other than just watch it if you haven't. Just great storytelling from start to finish (or finish to start, I guess). This movie was the reason why I was very excited when I first heard that Christopher Nolan was tapped to direct Batman Begins.

And Guy Pearce really carries this movie as well. I've always liked him ever since Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. In a lot of ways, it's a shame he's not as big a star as his other L.A. Confidential co-stars Kevin Spacey and Russell Crowe. He's just as talented an actor as those two, really.

This is for another Movie Retro really, but do watch L.A. Confidential if you haven't yet. Or at least read the novel it was based on by James Ellroy.
