The short of it: 5 out of 8 Nations
The long of it:
I never watched Ocean's 12, so I will take most people's word for it that it was not that good (except for BTC who said it wasn't THAT bad). Without that benchmark, I'll be forced to use Ocean's 11 as the lone standard; and while 13 is not as good as 11, it holds it's own pretty well.
That was a fun movie. I don't think I've seen Pacino that restrained in a while, and I must say I enjoyed the Pacino-Andy Garcia pairing a hell of a lot more than I did the last time I saw them together on screen (the-forced-out-of-my-memory-Godfather 3). Clooney, Pitt, etc. were their usual selves here and I must admit I got a good chuckle out of some of the inside jokes ("Next time, try not to gain weight in between" and "Why don't you settle down and have two kids"), although I can see how that would annoy some people. You can tell the guys do the Ocean's movies because they have fun filming it and hanging out with each other and sometimes that translates to personal excess or lack of effort but I don't think it did with this one.
Yeah I the Ocean's films were more fun when they actually had to work and con their way to an advantage or info like they did in Ocean's 11; this one, the first route was to buy their way into it. But that's okay, it was still fun.
You know, too bad Sinatra, Martin, Sammy, etc. are all dead, it would have been a kick to see those guys in cameos in the films.
