Movie Trailer: 1-18-08

Well, that's not the actual title of the movie, but rather the release date.

What's the actual title you say? No idea. All we know is it's an ultra-secretive JJ Abrams/Bad Robot produced movie, shot using mostly hand held video cameras as it is from the point of view of some of the citizens of New York City. The city seems to be experiencing what looks and sounds like a monster attack.

It's not a Godzilla movie, that much seems to be certain. Big rumor going around right now is that it is a Cthulhu movie (one of H.P. Lovecraft's Great Old Ones finally getting the silver screen treatment??).

I must say though, this brings me back to the old days when trailers created excitement via the "less is more" route. These days, trailers reveal in 3 minutes the entire plot of a movie. I certainly like the old school approach better. Who knows what this movie will be about, but it's certainly got people buzzing. In that regard, it's accomplished its goal for sure.
