Fall TV Premiere Thoughts So Far: Chuck, Heroes, Reaper

Ok, quick rundown of what I think of the new Fall TV season so far, or at least the shows I watch:

Chuck - I like it so far; it's pretty funny, and the cast works. Good to see Adam Baldwin (of Firefly/Serenity fame) back in action, and also Gift Shop Girl from Scrubs even has a role!

Reaper - You know, in a lot of ways, it's very similar to Chuck: slacker/nerd who works in a ginormous super store, with funny sidekick gets unwillingly thrown into a complex situation none of his doing and tries to make the best of it. Even the supporting cast is strong, just like Chuck (especially Ray Wise, he who was Papa Palmer in Twin Peaks). It helps a lot that both main characters are very likable, and both shows have a good mix of humor and seriousness. Reaper has been compared a lot to Buffy but it really has a different voice than the Sunnydale group. But I am enjoying both Reaper and Chuck so far.

Heroes - Sean's thoughts here. I agree with most of his points, but one thought from me: I'd really like to see Hiro gradually grow out of his comic relief role by season's end.

Anyway, the nextnew series premiering this week that I want to watch: Bionic Woman, which starts Wednesday. Next week, the one I can't wait to see the most: Pushing Daisies.
