The Best Week Ever

Well, at least for Erwin, The Sports Fan.

Monday started with the feeling of anticipation that the Super Bowl was only 6 days away. My favorite football team, the New York Giants, defying the odds, were going to play the 18-0 New England Patriots.

Tuesday brought the news that my favorite baseball team, the New York Mets, had traded for Johan Santana, the best pitcher in the planet.

Friday brought a double dose of news:

Johan Santana and the Mets agreed to a huge contract, and pending a physical the next day (which he passed), he was officially a Met.

And then the Laker fan in me was ecstatic to hear that the Lakers had basically traded nothing for Pau Gasol, one of the best big men in the business.

On Saturday, Arsenal beat Man City 3-1, while Man U tied with Tottenham 1-1, meaning Arsenal was back in first place in the Premier League.
