UFC 71 is this weekend, main evented by Chuck Lidell vs. Quinton Jackson.
Normally, I would say Lidell is the no-brainer favorite to win here, in spite of his previous loss to Jackson (aka Rampage) earlier in his career. But after seeing George St. Pierre lose, Randy Couture come out of retirement and win the heavyweight title, and Cro Cop not only lose but lose via his own signature move... well, let's just say maybe there's parity in the MMA world now. Is there anybody out there who you would say is just unbeatable right now? Maybe Fedor, and that's it.
Anyway, the big story coming out of today's press conference with Dana White is that a challenger has already been lined up for the winner of the main event and it'll be announced after the fight. Speculation is that it'll be a Pride "name" who'll be next in the mix. The three being mentioned the most are: Wanderlei Silva, Shogun Rua and Dan Henderson. I wouldn't have a problem watching any of those three, but my personal preference would be Henderson. I guess we'll find out on Saturday.
