Lots of spoilers about who is playing what folks, so don't click on the jump and/or the links if you want to be surprised. Consider it fair warning.
Still here? Ok, then.
First off, this particular news came out a few days ago, so I guess I should mention it. Nick D'Agosto has been cast as Claire's boyfriend in the upcoming season. He is supposed to have some powers as well.
And now, the big news - per TheHollywood Reporter, 6 new actors have been cast and will have recurring roles in Season 2. The two I'd like to touch on are the casting of David Anders and the person who will play Princess Keriyama (previously discussed here).
David Anders as Takezo Kensei... hmm. Well there goes my theory that Hiro or Papa Nakamura will turn out to be Kensei. I'll keep an open mind to this (since I like David Anders) but a white guy as the greatest samurai of all time?? Is there a quota on how many Asians can be cast in the show? I hope there's a satisfying plot twist/explanation for it. But I guess it's different and going against the grain.
And Eriko Tamura - a pop star and actress in Japan - will play Princess Keriyama, beating out current Ms. Universe Riyo Mori (and others, I'm sure) to the role. Hey, at least she has acting experience, which was my main concern with Ms. Mori when she disclosed she had auditioned for the role.
Anyway, with Lost and 24 not returning until 2008, Heroes is the returning show this fall that I am looking forward to the most. Have to wait till I read more about the Fall season before I start getting excited about some of the new shows; I figure I can fit maybe 2 more into the DVR pile.
